This apartment is situated the classified building ‘De Zonnewijzer’, designed by the late Belgian architect Leon Stynen. The brutalist building was constructed around 1955. In the 80’s, this specific unit was converted into a doctor’s office. The kitchen was removed and some of the wooden wallcoverings were overpainted, but the overall layout was preserved. The goal of the renovation was to maintain the vintage/modernist spirit, while making it livable again. We tried to restore as much of the original features as possible, such as the woodwork and stunning herringbone floors.
